With two Global Groove Music Festivals, one on each
coast, several Kwanza Jones performances throughout
the US and a lot of community interaction, Innovation
had a fun, diverse year of entertainment that dazzled
and captivated.
Kwanza Jones electrified Temple Bar in January with a show-stopping performance full of energy and great music.
In the midst of networking at various festivals and industry events, Kwanza Jones hit the recording studio expressing her artistic freedom with new songs and remixes.
Spring brought Innovation’s Global Groove Music Festival to Hollywood, California at The Knitting Factory with performances by Dawn Bishop (known for her performances with Sergio Mendez), Kwanza Jones, The Global Groove Collective, and Naked Rhythm.
It was an eclectic night with belly dancing, glow lights, sword dancing and a phenomenal duet with Kwanza Jones and Naked Rhythm.
In June, Global Groove Music Festival went to New York City!!! Playing the Knitting Factory New York, David Pilgrim, Bujo Kevin Jones, Kwanza Jones and Moto:Rosa filled the Tap Room with an eclectic mix of jazz and rock music.
Make Music New York was a fun way to attract a crowd! Kwanza Jones gave an outdoor performance in reknowned Greenwich Village as part of the Make Music New York.
It rained but the clouds lifted in time for her unique, stripped down acoustic show. Many stopped by to enjoy the live music as well as the sunshine. The sunshine didn’t last long. After performing for a few hours, we packed up and it began to rain! Kwanza managed to perform in a glimpse of perfect NY weather!
This brings us to July, Kwanza performed a packed show at Air Conditioned in Venice!
August was celebrated Brazilian Style with, Innovation Entetainment's 3rd Annual Brazilian Beach Bash, featuring performances by Capoeira Besoura, The Girls from Ipanema samba show and Eduardo's Samba Band.
Kwanza Jones was also the Honorary Chair of the 43rd Annual Foster Family Picnic a little of Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce flare!
Halloween brought Innovation into the world of Oz! Our Halloween Festival of Fun brought a carnival to the Neighborhood Youth Association, highlights included the Innovation staff dress up as characters from the Wizard of Oz. The kids and adults alike celebrated with games, candy and costume!
In preparation for the New Year, November and December was spent strategically planning for 2008. We are looking forward to a prosperous 2008!
