INfo & INsight: An Alternative to Traffic - Live Music In Your Home!

As a huge aficionado of live music
entertainment; I try to attend concerts on a regular
basis. No doubt Los Angeles being the entertainment
capital presents a plethora of musicians and musical
venues. You walk into any corner of the town; you are
likely to be entertained by very talented musicians.
Apart from music festivals, I have to admit, I tend
to favor intimate settings over an actual venue. I
choose and prefer this route because regular venues
lack the intimacy and comfort of a coffee house or a
house concert setting. Add to that an up close and
personal interaction with the artist, which you miss
when you attend an arena concert or festival.
However, I believe the bigger issues for concert goers involve traffic and ticket prices. I would add parking in there too or if you have a family; then kids come into play. I couldn’t believe people paying a fortune to attend the Miley Cyrus chic-a-fair. It does not get any better at the indie music level either. As much as I love supporting indie artists; the venues they perform; as I recall are a little overrated and have ridiculous drink prices. However, I would not completely boycott them, as they do play an important role in supporting an artist’s career. I acknowledge their operation as a business but do hope they at least guarantee compensation for performers.
Hence, if you are still a big live music fan and want to support an artist you love but hate driving….like me… then I suggest you are better off doing a party…house concert…whatever you call it in the comfort of your home. This way you not only get to connect with an artist on a personal level but also get to offer them your support and donations. People who are familiar with Kwanza’s music can now invite her to play in their living room. Also, INsemble our cover/dance band is available. Let’s get the party started.
